World Telehealth Initiative (WTI) Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) Tele-course is designed to strengthen healthcare providers’ knowledge, confidence, and practical skills in recognizing and managing critically ill patients in resource-constrained settings. The course follows the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) FCCS curriculum and combines independent learning with interactive telehealth sessions led by critical care specialists.
The FCCS Tele-course uses a blended-learning format that combines self-guided SCCM coursework with interactive live telehealth sessions led by critical care specialists. Before each session, trainees will complete assigned readings, self-guided SCCM slides, recorded video lectures, and submit questions related to the session topic. Live sessions will be held every other week for approximately 90–120 minutes and will focus on trainee-submitted questions, review of key concepts, relevant clinical cases, and practical application of critical care principles within the trainees’ clinical setting.

Course materials are provided through the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). Trainees will receive an email from SCCM with instructions to log in to their MySCCM account and access the course through the My Learning tab. Assigned readings, SCCM self-guided slides, and other learning materials should be completed according to the course schedule in preparation for each live session.

Access the Guided Lecture Slides through My SCCM. Navigate to My Learning, select your course from the SCCM Learning List, and click Go to Content to access the available course materials.
As you review each week’s lesson content, submit your questions using the appropriate Weekly Session Question Form so they can be shared with the instructors. Forms can be accessed here or within the corresponding week in the Course ‘Schedule’ section.
